Havfram has won work to decommission subsea facilities at Chinguetti and Banda, offshore Mauritania, from Petronas. Petronas’ PC Mauritania 1 awarded the engineering, procurement, retrieval and disposal (EPRD) contract in March 2022, Havfram reported. It did not disclose the value of the contract. A North Sea platform has been dropped off in the Netherlands ahead of being broken up. Heerema Marine Contractors, the same company that installed the Ketch platform more than 20 years ago, used its Sleipnir vessel to remove the installation. Preparatory works have kicked off in the North Sea ahead of the removal of the Dunlin Alpha topside. Dutch firm Heerema Marine Contractors has arrived on location, around 100 miles north-east of Shetland, to get the 20,000 tonne platform ready for decommissioning.
