Specialist process safety and data science company, Empirisys has announced the opening of a new Aberdeen office as part of its ongoing rapid growth plans and commitment to the North Sea energy industry.
The new office, strategically located in the city centre’s Marischal Square, is the latest development for the Cardiff-headquartered business as it strengthens its foothold in the North- east.
The office will provide a base for existing Aberdeen based Empirisys staff, including newly appointed Debs Murray as Business Support Manager, as well as proving space for secondments from the wider Cardiff based team for specific project work.
Founded in 2020, the specialist data-driven process safety firm has experienced a period of consistent growth, more than doubling turnover in 2023, and now boasting a team of over 32 data science, process safety and engineering professionals (comprising full-time staff and contractors).
Aberdeen is regarded as a linchpin for the growing organisation. With their new office in the heart of the city providing enhanced technology and facilities, it is anticipated that the move will accelerate core product growth, while the opportunity for greater face-to-face contact in the region will boost the delivery of new contracts.
CEO and co-founder of Empirisys, Gus Carroll, said: “Our investment in a new Aberdeen office underscores our dedication to supporting businesses in oil and gas, and decommissioning to enhance standards in process safety leadership, as well as supporting the energy transition.
“Recruiting local talent to our Aberdeen base is one of our longer-term objectives, particularly individuals with expertise in data science and process safety, and the opening of our new office is an important step in this journey.
“With its prime location, and in close proximity to our current and prospective customers, our new base in the North-east will help us grow and deliver our core products and services, as well as provide a high spec working environment for our people as we continue to serve the North Sea energy sector.”
Relationship Manager, MaryAnn Rae joined Empirisys in 2023, and anticipates developing her already strong existing network in the region. She said, “ Empirisys is committed to working with partners across the energy industry, using data-driven intelligence to provide insights that are a catalyst for real change in both safety and performance. We have already partnered with Step Change in Safety and Decom Mission to develop and implement surveys aimed at providing accurate reflections of the current state of process safety leadership and the decommissioning supply network respectively.
“The opening of the Aberdeen office comes at a pivotal time for us as we are poised to further strengthen our service offering to the energy sector. As our team, and indeed our presence, in the North-east grows we plan to work closely with our existing clients in the region, continuing to surface deep insights into their business challenges and pain points, and developing solutions to enhance safety and productivity, while simultaneously growing our customer base.”
Empirisys are currently recruiting for multiple roles to support the continued business growth. For details head to https://www.empirisys.io/team#vacancies
