This team focusses on events, market communication and member coordination while also the administration of the board and decommissioning leadership group.

BOARD OF
DIRECTORS

Decom Mission’s Board of Directors comprises senior energy professionals whose combination of skills and experience focuses upon late life and decommissioning. The Board reviews and shapes Decom Mission’s strategy and vision ensuring that the business aims and objectives are realistic, deliver value and meet the wide-ranging needs of our members.

PROJECT GROUPS

Open to all members, our Project Groups are guided by a Steering Committee and are focused on key topics relevant to the decommissioning sector. These topics are shaped by member input and insights from the Leadership Team, aligning with the needs of onshore and offshore industries.

Topics Include:

  • Well P&A: Focused on reducing costs and improving outcomes in oil and gas decommissioning.
  • Marine Structures: Covers oil, gas, and renewable industries (e.g., tidal, wind, wave), including activities such as engineering and removal of topsides, jackets, and turbines.
  • Subsea Structures: Focus on pipelines, cables, manifolds, and other subsea elements, with high demand for expertise and cost focus.
  • Waste Management & Circular Economy: A key area for energy transition, addressing waste characterization, reuse, and recycling.
  • Onshore Activities: Includes decommissioning of nuclear, renewable, terminal, and refinery sites, covering skills like demolition and dismantling.
  • Skills and Energy Transition: Addressing diversity, training, and emerging professionals, including initiatives like Women in Decom (WiD) and Emerging Professionals in Late Life and Decom (EPLLD).
  • Safety: A priority across the sector, with ongoing efforts to reduce risks and collaborate on safety advocacy via Step Change in Safety (SCIS).
